Privacy Policy

VITA – Athletes & Fitness Hub ("VITA", formerly Q-Athlete; "we", "us", "the app") is a fitness marketplace and community app for Qatar. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using VITA, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account details — your name, email address, password (stored encrypted), and optionally your age and a profile photo.
• Location — only when you check in to a community event, we read your device's GPS location once to confirm you are at the event (within about 300 metres). We do not track your location in the background.
• Photos — images you choose to upload: your profile picture, product photos (for vendors), and photos you post in community chats or events.
• Orders — items you buy and the delivery details you provide. Orders are paid by card online; we never see or store your card number.
• Nutrition — foods you log in the nutrition diary. Food searches and barcodes are sent to the Open Food Facts database to look up nutrition information.
• Activity — points, streaks, the communities/groups/clubs you join, and the messages, posts, and reactions you create.
• Training you record — workouts you log yourself, and, only if you switch it on, workouts and health readings (steps, sleep, heart rate) read from Apple Health or Health Connect on your phone. This is read on your device with your permission and stored with your account; we never write anything back to Apple Health or Health Connect.
• Notifications — if you allow it, we send in-app and device notifications (for example, order updates and event invitations).

How we use your information

• To create and run your account and show you the app's features.
• To process and deliver your orders and send order updates.
• To verify event attendance for reward points using your one-time location.
• To display your posts, photos, and profile to other members of communities you join.
• To keep the app safe, prevent abuse, and fix problems.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Services that help us run the app

We share the minimum data needed with trusted service providers:

• Railway — hosts the app's server.
• Supabase — stores the database and your uploaded photos.
• Dibsy — processes online card payments. Card details are entered directly with the payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.
• Open Food Facts — provides nutrition data for foods you search.
• Google Play — distributes the app.

Photos and permissions

The app asks for camera, photo, location, and notification permissions only when a feature needs them. You can decline or later change these in your device settings; some features (like uploading a photo or event check-in) will not work without the related permission.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure servers (Railway and Supabase). Passwords are stored encrypted, and connections use HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Your rights

• You can view and edit your profile in the app at any time.
• You can delete your account and personal data yourself, from inside the app: Profile → Delete my account. It is permanent. See how to delete your account for exactly what is removed, and for how to ask us if you can no longer sign in.
• You can turn off notifications and revoke permissions in your device settings.

Children

VITA is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version, and significant changes will be announced in the app.
